If you consider museum visits an essential part of your travel experience — good news is ahead. With the opening of these new institutions, 2017 is going to be a cool year for culture trippers who are ready for something a little bit different.

1 Museum of the American Revolution — Philadelphia

In the spring, the City of Brotherly Love will open the Museum of the American Revolution a few blocks from Independence Hall and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the Revolution. You’ll be able to view artwork, manuscripts and other artifacts, take in screenings, and enjoy historic recreations. (Opening: April 19)

2 The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss — Massachusetts

Your childhood dream come true, The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss will shine an international spotlight on the celebrated author’s hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts. The bilingual permanent exhibit includes personal memorabilia and a recreation of Theodor Seuss Geisel’s creative studio. No word on whether green eggs and ham will be served. (Opening: June)

3 Yves Saint Laurent Museums —Paris and Marrakech

The wondrous work of fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent is the subject of not one but two new museums set to debut this fall in Paris and Marrakech. That will hopefully allow enough time to acquire that perfect YSL piece to wear or tote to the premiere (Opening: September)

4 Museum of the Bible — Washington

The nation’s capital plans to welcome Museum of the Bible before the year’s end. The 430,000 square foot property houses interactive exhibits that bring the Scripture to life as well as an education and research center for all ages. (Opening: November)
