Christian Daily: Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson urges Christians to vote for ‘Biblically correct’ presidential candidate

Phil Robertson of the reality show “Duck Dynasty” said Christians in America should vote for the “Biblically correct” presidential candidate in the 2016 election, and suggested that it might be Republican nominee Donald Trump.

In a conversation with My Faith Votes organization about faith and Christians’ role in society, Robertson said America is currently experiencing the “greatest assault on Christianity” because of the rise of secularism. The “Duck Dynasty” patriarch said the people are to blame for the current situation because they are the ones who choose the leaders who will represent them.

Speaking about the growing opposition to Biblical views on marriage, abortion, and other similar issues, Robertson said he would vote for a candidate who believes in what God says about these topics. He also highlighted the increasing efforts since 1925 to remove God from schools, and said the current situation is the result of all those efforts.

When asked by one caller on who Christian voters should support between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, Robertson said believers should choose the one who follows the Bible. The reality star reportedly implied that the “Biblically correct” candidate is Trump.

“I am going to leave that up to you to cast your vote. I would say cast your vote for the one that we have a better chance to remain the republic that we are. So, I would just simply say: You have political correctness on the one side,” said Robertson. “Biblical correctness on the other. I am on the biblically-correct side. Therefore, I would tiptoe through the tulips but you just have to vote your conscience, woman.”

Earlier this year, Robertson had offered to teach Trump about the Biblical concepts of forgiveness and how to love one’s enemies. In an interview with Fox News, he said his offer stems from his loyalty to the Republican Party.
