Desert Dispatch | Harvest America set for June 11

Driven by the belief that America is desperately in need of the hope of Jesus Christ, Harvest Christian Fellowship Church, along with its founding pastor Greg Laurie, will host the annual Harvest America 2017, the nation’s largest one-day evangelistic outreach.

At 5 p.m. on June 11, Laurie will deliver an inspirational message via live satellite from the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Bob Grenier, pastor of Calvary Chapel Visalia, said the event was designed to offer comfort to millions of Americans around the U.S. who have been shaken by current events, such as the recent election, school shootings and terrorist attacks.

“Participating in the Harvest America outreach over the past few years has made a difference in our church and community as we’ve seen lives transformed by the message of the Gospel presented by Greg Laurie,” Grenier said.

Along with Laure’s sermon, Harvest America 2017 will feature music from top name Christian artists, including NEEDTOBREATHE, MercyMe, Trip Lee and Phil Wickham.

The event will be broadcast live on the internet at www.HarvestAmerica.com, and “behind the scenes” updates about Harvest America 2017 will be posted on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram (or search #HarvestAmerica).

Churches, organizations and individuals interested in hosting a Harvest America outreach in their community can find more information at www.HarvestAmerica.com/host-the-simulcast.

“Hosting Harvest America is as easy as opening up your church or inviting friends into your home,” said Grenier. “The two hours you spend taking part in this excellent outreach could impact lives for eternity.”

The process for hosting a Harvest America event is free, simple, and meaningful, and allows people across the country to be part of the largest event of its kind anywhere, according to Grenier.

In addition to people’s homes, the event will be broadcast at various churches in Los Angeles County, including Faith Tabernacle in South El Monte, First Love Calvary Chapel in Whittier, Impact Christian Church in Rosemead and Highland Baptist Church in Los Angeles, to name a few.

Laurie’s Harvest Crusade events have been attended by more than 7.6 million people worldwide, both in-person and via live internet broadcasts. His 2016 Harvest America event, which was held at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, was live streamed to more than 7,200 remote host locations and drew a combined 357,000 participants, making it the largest one-day live evangelistic event in American history.
