NRB | Christian Broadcasting Gets Attention

Some observers have noticed that Christian broadcasting is getting a little more love in Washington these days. In fact, Religion News Service (RNS) published an article picked up by a number of outlets this week particularly highlighting the elevated attention to the Christian Broadcasting Network’s news team at the White House.

While having credentialed press there since the Reagan Administration, CBN News turned heads when its correspondent, Jennifer Wishon, was called on for the second question by White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer in his first official press briefing. Wishon reported a few days later that President Trump told her that he had made that happen. Significantly, that remark came as he was about to sit down with CBN’s David Brody for one of the first one-on-one interviews of the new administration.

In this week’s RNS article, which was posted on President Trump’s Facebook page, Dr. Jerry A. Johnson, President & CEO of NRB, pointed to the significance of religious broadcasting that should not be overlooked. He told reporter Adelle Banks, “It is obvious the old mainstream media missed something in this last election cycle. CBN and other Christian outlets help complete the picture.”
