Press Release: Good Shepherd Church of India and Its Associate Ministries Join the Telangana Green Campaign

Good Shepherd Church of India joins Chief Minister K C Rao, of Telangana, in his “Haritha Haram” Initiative to make Telangana Green

The Good Shepherd Church of India and it’s associated ministries launched the planting of trees in all of it’s 14 school

campuses in Hyderabad as well as other properties on 15 July 2016. 

The State finance minister, Sri, Etela Rajender Garu launched the programme by planting a tree in the presence of 500 Good Shepherd English medium school children, at the Good Shepherd School campus on Medchal Road, Jeedimetla Village.

‘We welcome this initiative of the Chief Minister to increase the tree cover of Telangana State,” said Moderator Bishop Dr Joseph D’souza. This is in line with what the Bible teaches that we have to take care of God’s creation. ” Our dream is also one of making Telangana prosperous, developed and green”. 

The Moderator also stated that he was delighted to read in the newspapers that the honourable Chief Minister has become the best Chief Minister in India in a recent survey carried out across the country. We are seeking to work with the Government in the field of education and development and will contribute to making Telangana prosperous and developed.

The launch of the function was also attended by the Bishops of the Good Shepherd Church of India from across the country, the local MLA  Sri .K.P.Vivekananda Goud garu and other community leaders.
