San Diego Business Journal | S.D. Approves $160 Million Legacy International Center

The proposed $160 million Legacy International Center in Mission Valley has been approved by the San Diego City Council.

Planned for an 18-acre site at 875 Hotel Circle S. by the San Diego-based Morris Cerullo World Evangelism, the five-building center will have religious education and tourism attractions, including a minister training center, theaters, a welcome center, museum, gallery, hotel, restaurants and retail.

Its event center will have a lecture and performing arts hall, a 500-seat theater, and a restaurant with a catering center. The center will be available for receptions and special events for visiting groups and the community.

“Our center will work tirelessly to have a positive impact and be great neighbors in Mission Valley,” Jim Penner, Legacy Center executive director said in a statement.

Designed by Carrier Johnson + Culture in conjunction with Morris Cerullo, Legacy International Center is on the site previously used by the Mission Valley Resort, a gym and a mini-mart.

Demolition of the existing structures is slated to begin in December.
