The Global Dispatch | ‘Insanity Of God’ Chronicles Missionary Work, Christian Persecution And Work Of Nik Ripken

Fathom Events and LifeWay Films partnered to bring the story of ‘the Ripkens’ to cinemas with the documentary “The Insanity of God,” a shocking examination of life as a missionary.

After a brief look at the early days of their marriage and the decision to share the gospel in Africa, Nik and Ruth Ripken journey into the depths of the persecuted church asking if Jesus is worth it? The Ripkens share the pain of losing their son as well as incredible ways “God shows up” and changes peoples’ lives.

Officially titled THE INSANITY OF GOD with DAVID PLATT,” the documentary certainly shatters stereotypes and presumptions about missionaries, their work and life in areas like Somalia, the Soviet Union, China and the Middle East.

After the feature presentation, there will be a Q&A with Nik Ripken and International Mission Board President, author and speaker David Platt, as well as a performance of “Dimitri’s Song” (featured in the production) by musical artist Todd Smith.
