Dr. Shea Garrison is Vice President for International Affairs for Concerned Women for America (CWA) in Washington, D.C., focusing on U.S. foreign policy and aid, women’s economic and social empowerment, religious freedom, and human rights. She is also Affiliated Faculty and Policy Fellow at George Mason University Schar School of Policy and Government.
Dr. Garrison publishes a policy paper for CWA called The Counterpoint and writes op-eds for major media outlets such as National Review, The Washington Times, The Federalist, Washington Examiner, The Hill, and Townhall. She speaks about U.S. policy and international issues on national TV and radio, and to venues such as Wilson Center for International Scholars, the Heritage Foundation, U.S. Department of State and the Foreign Services Institute.
Dr. Garrison holds a Ph.D. and M.S. from Tulane University in International Development, where she was adjunct faculty in 2015. She was Visiting Research Fellow at the American University of Kuwait Center for Gulf Studies in 2014. She and her husband of 22 years are from Louisiana and currently reside in the Washington, D.C. area.
