Joseph Alvaro

Creator & Executive Producer of The Lucky Ones


Joseph created The Lucky Ones with fellow widower Matt Zoller-Seitz as a web based video platform for people to celebrate the continuing bonds shared with those who’ve passed away. In short interviews, people from all walks of life share their stories about someone special who has touched their lives. In his book, I’m One of The Lucky Ones, Joseph shares the joy of his relationship with his wife; celebrating the love they had for one another.


Joseph’s prior work includes the music video, Take Me to Your Reader for Grammy nominee Judy Pancoast along with the 5 minute short; Do Not Remove, a Halloween spoof that ran before blockbuster films such as Blue Velvet, Aliens, and Stand by Me. His direction of Creeps was awarded one of the Year’s Best Plays by Jay Carr of the Boston Globe. Joseph staged a regional production of The Elephant Man and in NYC, productions of Buddies for the Ensemble Studio Theatre and Doing the Numbers at The Sanford Meisner Theatre. He has produced or directed numerous high profile TV commercials for such clients as Estee Lauder, Visine and JVC.
