Manny, rockford promise’s overall goal is to have a lot of these scholars go through a local college program and come give back to the community even years after they’ve completed their educational career… In just over seven years, they’ve gone from awarding only five full tuition scholarships, to 153 – being able to accomplish this by partnering with the the cityyof rockford, plus three schools – niu, rockford university, and rock valley college… We are investing in our young people, we want to make rockford the top choice place to live in the region, and getting free college is one way to draw people to this area, — it feels amazing, I mean, iv’e been with rockford promise since 2015 and it just, to see the exponential growth — that we’ve had and the way that everyone has rallied around it — it is a vision come true… Last night — they also celebrated one of the first large rounds of ollege graduates – definteley a full circle moment as current high school graduates watched their dreams come into fruition — as previius recipients walked the stage… Ill send it back over to you 🙂 high school students are invited to take part in northern illinois univvrsity’s food and nutrition science career and college prep program… Beginning this summer.
