CCM Magazine | Audio Adrenaline’s Mark Stuart Releasing New Book

Mark Stuart, former frontman of long-time Christian music group Audio Adrenalineand founder of the Hands and Feet Project, is release a new book, Losing My Voice to Find It: How a Rockstar Discovered His Greatest Purpose on November 5, 2019. Forwarded by Tim Tebow, the new release is the incredible true story of a lead singer’s rise to fame and his crushing fall when he lost his singing voice, his career, and his marriage—and then found a new calling more in tune with God than he ever thought possible.

Mark Stuart was the lead singer of the popular Christian rock band, Audio Adrenaline, at a time when the Christian music scene exploded. Advancing from garage band to global success, the group sold out stadiums all over the world, won Grammy Awards, and even celebrated an album going certified Gold. But after almost twenty years, Mark’s voice began to give out. When doctors diagnosed him with a debilitating disease, the life he’d built and the band he founded was gone.

Mark stopped by the CCM Magazine Cafe to talk to us about the new project:

Then to his shock, his wife ended their marriage, and Mark believed he’d lost everything. Unsure of his future, Mark traveled to Haiti to help with the band’s ministry, the Hands and Feet Project. When the devastating 2010 earthquake hit, the media learned he was present and sought him out for interviews.

Ironically, Mark became the scratchy voice for the struggling Haitians, drawing the world’s attention to their dire circumstances. In the process, Mark found a greater purpose than he’d ever known before. In this gripping, compelling new book, Mark Stuart overlays his story with passages from the gospel of John, urging his readers to listen for God’s voice and find their own by embracing his big love that calls us into a big life.

Losing My Voice to Find It: How a Rockstar Discovered His Greatest Purpose (Thomas Nelson Publishing) by Mark Stuart will be available wherever books are sold starting Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Praise for Losing My Voice to Find It
“I have had the privilege of touring with Mark multiple times throughout the years. We’ve worked on records and written songs together, and I have had the honor of doing a lot of life with Mark. He is the genuine article. I believe he is truly a man after God’s own heart. He has held steadfast on that course no matter what storms life has thrown at him. He is full of wisdom, and I am thankful that he offers it up to all of us as we continue on our own journeys. His insight should serve us well.”
TobyMac, Grammy-winning artist and author

“Sometimes it’s hard to understand why God takes things away. Mark losing his singing voice is one of those unanswerable questions. However, I’ve walked with Mark, from his final show in Hawaii to him bringing hope to the people of Haiti, and God has never let him go. Mark’s voice has never been more important.”
Bart Millard, author and lead vocalist of MercyMe
