Christian Daily | Clinton’s abortion views worse than Trump’s border wall, Samuel Rodriguez tells Latino Christians

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s stance on abortion is worse than her Republican rival Donald Trump’s intention to put up a wall to separate America from Mexico, according to National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference president Rev. Samuel Rodriguez.

In a statement emailed to his supporters on Monday, Rev. Rodriguez told Hispanic Christians that Clinton wants them to sacrifice their religious values in supporting her. He said Latinos should never go against their beliefs for the sake of politics, The Christian Post details.

“Latinos are pro-life. Latinos, whether they be Evangelical or Catholic, must never sacrifice truth on the altar of political expediency,” said Rev. Rodriguez in his email. “By asking for our support, Sec. Clinton is asking us to sacrifice our most cherished values. She is asking us to defy our faith. She is asking us to sacrifice the sacred.”

While Trump wants to build a wall between America and Mexico, Rodriguez said Clinton already has established one in the form of her stance on abortion. For him, the Democrat’s views on the issue are a wall which surpasses any “rhetorical, hypothetical or physical wall.”

Rev. Rodriguez’s statement comes after Clinton said the Roe v. Wade stipulates that there can be no limits on abortion as long as the mother’s health and life are considered.

During the last presidential debate, Trump reiterated his pro-life stance and vowed to appoint Supreme Court justices who would overturn the Roe v. Wade ruling on abortion. Clinton, on the other hand, voiced out once again her support for the ruling which guarantees a woman’s right to have an abortion, The Washington Post relays.

For Clinton, decisions on abortion — especially those that need to be done at the end of pregnancy — are the most painful ones for families. She believes the U.S. government should not meddle into that personal decision. Moreover, Clinton said the government has no place in the decisions that women make according to their faith and based on medical advice.
