Go Dan River | God’s Pit Crew launches new international program

A Danville disaster relief organization is launching an international program to provide humanitarian relief around the world.

God’s Pit Crew is partnering with Forest-based World Help to deliver the first International Blessing Buckets to families in jungle communities in Guatemala, according to a news released.

Volunteers will assemble more than 1,400 buckets from 9 to 1 p.m. Saturday at God’s Pit Crew Distribution Center. Volunteers are asked to park on Parkland Drive and use the upper entrance to assembly area located at 132 Parkland Drive in Danville.

“This assembly will be a celebration of the very first of what we feel will be years of International Blessing Buckets,” GPC Blessing Bucket Coordinator Julie Burnett said in a statement.

All 1,440 Blessing Buckets will be assembled Saturday. World Help will ship the buckets to Guatemala, which are expected to arrive and be distributed in July.
