A world-renowned surgeon and a beloved sitcom star have joined forces to urge Christians to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
Dr. Ben Carson and former “Growing Pains” heartthrob Kirk Cameron made the pitch Tuesday during a live broadcast from the retired pediatric surgeon’s living room.
“Our future is in our own hands … We have to be active, we have to stand up for what we believe in,” said Carson, a former GOP presidential candidate who dropped from the race earlier this year.
“If God didn’t want us to get involved in politics, then He wouldn’t have given us the brain or the reasoning ability.”
Cameron added: “I say to my kids, someone’s values are going to reign supreme. Someone’s values are going to determine what is right and what is wrong … If we don’t [vote], that’s a terrible disserve to our family and our neighbors.”
