[Press Release] World Help impacts more than 3 million lives in 2016

FOREST, Va. — World Help, a Christian humanitarian organization, recently released its 2016 annual report celebrating a record year. Because of the faithful giving of supporters, World Help impacted 3,143,071 lives through its response to international conflicts, natural disasters and extreme poverty.

“In a world plagued by constant crisis and conflict, it can sometimes be difficult to know where to start if we want to make a difference. Yet, for World Help, the answer has always been clear: change always begins at an individual level,” said Vernon Brewer, founder and president of the organization.

“We measure our success by every life we touch and every story we can improve.  Because of this, I’m proud to say that thanks to the compassion and generosity of our supporters — who saw crises and conflicts as opportunities for action — in 2016 World Help was able to impact the lives of more people than ever before.”

In 2016, World Help delivered lifesaving humanitarian aid to 110,698 refugees who fled ISIS in the Middle East and to more than 615,000 people in impoverished communities across the world. The organization also provided sustainable change to over 70,000 people worldwide through child sponsorship programs and clean water projects, and impacted more than 740,000 lives through the distribution of 148,198 Bibles and the planting of 4,387 churches. Anti-human trafficking campaigns, vocational training initiatives and baby rescue programs helped many more find freedom from slavery and poverty — and hope for the future.

For 2017, World Help has set a goal of impacting 3.5 million people through 17 strategic programs.

“Since the start of World Help, our mission hasn’t changed. We will continue to bring help for today and hope for tomorrow to those who need it most,” said Brewer. “We are grateful for a historic 2016, and are working toward impacting more lives in 2017.”
