CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Noted executive coach, corporate leadership consultant, and international business authority Mark Nation releases the following statement in support of World Help, an international humanitarian organization whose Freedom Friday event is designed to provide everyone an opportunity to fight sexual slavery:
“It is impossible to overestimate the importance of personal freedoms to live the amazing life designed for each of us. Sexual slavery strips these individuals of their freedom and their future. Thailand is ground zero for sexual slavery, where extreme wealth and grinding poverty can be found just a few feet from each other. Having worked in Bangkok and Phuket, and traveled to Thailand with my family on numerous occasions, the ‘Land of Smiles’ is one of our favorite countries on earth. Yet behind the smiles of some lies extreme poverty, lack of proper education, and imprisonment of spirit. Facing very difficult circumstances, some parents make the heartrending decision to sell their children into sexual slavery.
“World Help is committed to fighting sexual slavery in Thailand, to bringing an authentic, enduring smile—and a second chance —to girls who have only known inhumanity and abuse at the hands of others. That’s why I’m calling on the women and men of the business community to join my family in observing Freedom Friday. We’ll be giving up our evening entertainment Friday, May 19, and donating its monetary worth to help girls trapped in the sex industry find freedom. I hope you’ll join us.”
