PLANO, Texas — Jack Graham, pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church, issues the following statement on today’s Supreme Court decision to overturn NIFLA v. Becerra:
“Today’s Supreme Court decision to overturn a law that forced pregnancy centers in California to promote abortions is what a major part of the 2016 presidential election was about: the Supreme Court. Had Neil Gorsuch not been sitting on that bench, hundreds of Christians would’ve been forced to promote a practice that goes against their sincerely held beliefs. I’m delighted the Supreme Court didn’t cave in to political pressure, but ruled on the basis of our Constitution, which guarantees both freedom of expression and from compelled speech to all Americans. Abortion is an affront to God and life, and though it might still be a lamentable reality, decisions like these give us reason to hope that life will once again be valued in America”
