Centennial Institute: Ballot harvesting a ‘serious hole’ undermining current election system

Dec. 15, 2020

LAKEWOOD, Co. — Jeff Hunt, director of the Centennial Institute, releases the following statement ahead of Tuesday’s investigative hearing in the legislature’s bipartisan Audit Committee on Colorado election integrity:

“Ballot harvesting undermines the integrity of our elections. Colorado has mandated mail ballots for every state and federal election. Ballot harvesting is a serious hole in the process that undermines safeguards in our current system. A person could collect and return 10 ballots, 100 ballots, visit multiple ballot drop-off locations, all with very little oversight. Ballot harvesting must be ended if Coloradans are to have faith and confidence in the process and outcomes of our elections.”
