Media Advisory | International Religious Freedom Summit 2021 kicks off in Washington, D.C., Tuesday, July 13

WASHINGTON Former U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom Samuel Brownback and former United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) Chair Katrina Lantos Swett will co-chair the International Religious Freedom Summit 2021, a grassroots gathering of civil society and religious groups from all over the world.

The Summit is supported by more than 70 diverse partners around the world and aims to bring greater attention to religious freedom violations and to create a powerful coalition of groups to advance the cause of religious freedom around the world.

The Summit convenes activists from around the world, many of whom have risked lives and livelihoods, therefore the event will be credentialed for security.

International Religious Freedom Summit 2021 is convening a powerful, broad coalition of religious and civil society groups to advocate for religious freedom for all people, everywhere at all times.

Samuel Brownback served as the U.S. Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom from 2018 to 2021. He serves as co-chair of IRF Summit 2021.

Katrina Lantos Swett is president of the Lantos Foundation for Human Rights and Justice and former chair and vice-chair of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF). She serves as co-chair of IRF Summit 2021.
