[Media Advisory] World Help’s Vernon Brewer To Report On Refugee Camps In Jordan-Syria, Feb. 21

Feb. 21, 2017

FOREST, Va. — Vernon Brewer, president and founder of local Christian humanitarian organization World Help, will hold a conference call to give an up-to-the-minute report on the condition of the refugee camps alongside the Syrian border. The call, scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET, Tuesday, Feb. 21, will consist of a 15-minute report, followed by a question and answer segment.

This week, Brewer returned from visiting refugee camps — including the Za-atari camp which alone houses more than 80,000 refugees — in the Jordan-Syria border. He delivered food, clothes, space heaters, and blankets to refugee families, as well as diapers and baby formula for infants and nursing mothers. World Help, the organization founded by Brewer, also supports a clinic that gives free medical services to 100 Syrian refugees a day.

In the camps, Brewer visited with families and listened to their stories of fleeing Syria and losing family members. He also inspected the conditions of the camps, and assessed the needs for refugees to survive the winter months.

“They may not be able to cross our borders, but we can cross their borders and bring them hope,” said Vernon Brewer.
