Museum of the Bible invites all to join ‘National Prayer Altar’ service on Sept. 29, aims to unite U.S. church in prayer for national healing

Sep. 29, 2021

WASHINGTONMuseum of the Bible will host its third National Prayer Altarservice with Pastors James and Sharon Ward, founders of INSIGHT Church of Skokie and Hoffman Estates, Ill., on Wednesday, Sept. 29, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (ET). All are invited to gather in the museum’s World Stage Theatre or join the service virtually via livestream to unite the church in the United States in prayer for healing for the nation. The service will focus on worshiping together, teaching biblical truth and praying for all areas of influence in the United States.

“We are facing many challenges in our nation and in the world from political divisions, racial tension, health challenges, violence in the streets and military concerns, just to name a few,” said Steve Green, chairman of the board for Museum of the Bible. “I believe God has blessed our nation to the degree we have sought him to guide and direct us. And today we need his guidance to maneuver today’s challenges. Pastor Ward and his wife, Sharon, have felt called to lead the prayer event at the museum, and we would love to see you there.”

James E. Ward, Jr., is a pastor, author and entrepreneur who speaks nationally and internationally on cultural and spiritual issues. In his book, “Zero Victim: Liberate Yourself from the Mentality of Defeat,” he shares a universal principle that has fueled his success in every area of life — the development of a “Zero Victim” mindset. He is the founder of the Zero Victim Community Development Corporation, an apolitical Christian activist organization that exists to alleviate and prevent the victimization of those most vulnerable in Black America. Because of his unique “Zero Victim,” biblical perspective, his involvement is highly sought after by corporate, government and thought leaders in addressing and mitigating the complex challenges around racial and socio-political issues. As a speaker and Bible teacher, James emphasizes spiritual awakening through Christian character and leadership development, while intellectually challenging listeners with proven wisdom based upon biblical principles.

Sharon Ward is the co-pastor of INSIGHT Church and founder of the Bella Grace Women’s Ministry. She is a loving wife, mother and gifted speaker with deep passion for the things of God. Sharon is known for breaking barriers and setting new standards in her many involvements in God’s Kingdom. The daughter of well-known Pastors Carlton and Sheila Arthurs, Sharon has been instrumental in planting and building churches throughout her entire life. By age 19, she had become the family church’s business manager and a very effective leader of leaders. Sharon has successfully designed, brokered and managed several multimillion-dollar commercial real estate deals and construction projects. Her passion in ministry has always been to love hurting people and care for those who are disadvantaged in life, by facilitating outreach ministries, foreign missions and benevolent enterprises. Sharon believes that God can take people from wherever life places them to achieve their highest potential in God.

The National Prayer Altar service is free, but guests are still required to register for a ticket for admittance to the museum or to receive a Zoom link. Tickets are available here.
