WASHINGTON — Museum of the Bible and Tikvah Fund will present “The Miraculous Case for God: A View from Jewish History,” a virtual conversation with Rabbi Meir Y. Soloveichik and Eric Cohen on Thursday, Dec. 3, at 7:00 p.m. EST. Soloveichik and Cohen will discuss historical and theological questions pertaining to the resilience of the Jewish people throughout the centuries.

“We are fortunate to collaborate with two brilliant Jewish scholars who have much to teach us,” said Harry Hargrave, CEO of Museum of the Bible. “The story of the Jewish people is integral to our understanding of the Bible and of history. We are grateful to have artifacts on loan from the Israel Antiquities Authority on display at the museum that help tell that story.”

Rabbi Soloveichik is a descendent of one of the great dynasties of Orthodox Judaism. He received his rabbinic ordination from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary and holds a doctorate in religion from Princeton University. He is rabbi of Congregation Shearith Israel, a 366-year-old Jewish community — the oldest in America — in Manhattan. Rabbi Soloveichik is also an international lecturer and essayist, and his works have been published in Wall Street Journal, Mosaic, Jewish Review of Books, Commentary, First Things, Azure, Tradition and Torah U-Madda Journal. 

Eric Cohen is the executive director of Tikvah Fund, a philanthropic and thought organization that supports the intellectual, religious and political leaders of the Jewish people and the Jewish State. He is the founder and editor-at-large of New Atlantis and is publisher of Jewish Review of Books and Mosaic. Cohen is also the author of “In the Shadow of Progress: Being Human in the Age of Technology” (2008) and co-editor of “The Future is Now: America Confronts the New Genetics” (2002). His writings have been published in Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Mosaic, Commentary, The Weekly Standard, The New Republic and First Things, among other outlets.
