WASHINGTON — Museum of the Bible invites guests to celebrate its World Stage Theater reopening with iconic Christian music artists Natalie Grant and Sandi Patty on Friday, Sept. 3, at 7 p.m.

The museum’s theater is a uniquely intimate venue. Seating fewer than 500 people, the theater is a marked contrast to the massive concert halls typically used for these music stars’ performances.

Both vocalists will perform music inspired by the Bible and their own relationships with God.

“We are thrilled to have these two immensely talented vocalists join us for an evening of music that is sure to be memorable,” said Harry Hargrave, CEO of Museum of the Bible. “Not only have Natalie Grant and Sandi Patty largely shaped Christian music as we know it today, but they have also changed so many people’s lives around the world.”

Grant, an eight-time GRAMMY nominee and five-time GMA Dove Awards Female Vocalist of the Year winner, has remained one of Christian music‘s top-selling artists for 20 years with more than 500 million streams and multiple number-one albums and singles on the Billboard Charts. Most recently, Grant launched her newest album, “No Stranger,” which gave the singer the biggest first-week debut of her career.

An author, philanthropist and fierce advocate for justice, Grant is the co-founder of Hope For Justice, an international non-profit organization with 32 offices spanning nine countries that works to end modern-day slavery. Grant and her husband, GRAMMY award-winning songwriter/producer Bernie Herms, live in Nashville with their three daughters.

Patty, known as “The Voice,” is the most awarded female vocalist in contemporary Christian music history. She was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2004 and has won five GRAMMY awards, 40 GMA Dove awards, and four Billboard Music awards. Patty has three platinum records and five gold records. She has released more than 30 albums, including her latest album, “Everlasting,” featuring famous hymns and songs of worship set in an intimate and acoustic setting.

While her 30-year career is heavily rooted in the gospel music industry, Patty has performed with symphonies across the country, including the New York Pops, Boston Pops, Cincinnati Pops, Dallas Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Houston Symphony and Oklahoma City Philharmonic. She also headlined the title role in sold-out performances of the musical “Hello, Dolly!” with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, co-starring Tony Award winner Gary Beach in January 2012. Patty is also the author of seven books. She and her husband, Don, have eight children and currently reside in Oklahoma City.
