DALLAS, TX — Less than a week before Election Day, My Faith Votes, the non-partisan movement working for the engagement of Evangelicals in the 2016 Election and beyond, will present My Faith Matters, A Conversation About the Importance of Faith in American Culture and Politics, on November 2 at 7 p.m. EST.

The two-hour live event, simulcasted from Elevate Life Church in Frisco, Texas to hundreds of churches across America, will feature an interview with Dr. Ben Carson, a message from Dr. David Jeremiah’s Stand Up Tour, and music by artist Todd Smith.

“As Election Day draws nearer, we must continue talking about the importance of faith in American culture and politics,” said Sealy Yates, founder and president of My Faith Votes. “This is exactly what My Faith Matters is about. As Evangelicals who desire to have a voice in shaping our nation, it’s imperative that we remain involved in dialogue and that everyone participates in this election. We cannot ever again have an election where 25 million registered evangelicals simply choose not to vote.”

Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leaders Conference, J. D. Greear, author and pastor of the The Summit Church in North Carolina, Rep. Scott Turner of Texas, TV news correspondent Megan Alexander, and Vance Pitman, pastor of Hope Church in Las Vegas, will also participate in the My Faith Matters simulcast. Keith Craft, pastor of Elevate Life Church, will speak and moderate the event. More than 750 separate viewing sites have already signed up to simulcast the event. Individuals may also watch live at myfaithvotes.org/faithincultureandpolitics.

“The last few elections have demonstrated that Evangelicals have the power to make a significant difference in the future of our country,” Yates added. “This is not a time to sit back and remain passive, especially when the most important decisions in America are being made. This is a time to pray like we mean it, to think through our positions, and to commit to vote.”

My Faith Matters, one of more than a dozen live events My Faith Votes has hosted, comes after Revive Us, a film by Kirk Cameron sponsored by My Faith Votes, premiered in nearly a thousand theaters nationwide on Monday, October 24. A special final encore showing will be held in select theaters on Tuesday, November 1. Dr. Ben Carson, honorary national chairman of My Faith Votes, will join Kirk Cameron, Francis Chan, James MacDonald, actor Karen Abercrombie, and worship group Passion, among others, at this event.

Throughout the 2016 Presidential Campaign, My Faith Votes has raised millions of dollars and implemented a robust list of initiatives to help motivate the 25 million registered but inactive evangelicals to vote in the 2016 election. In October, My Faith Votes launched a national PSA campaign of 23 television spots, which run 40 to 60 times daily on an estimated 110 million U.S. households, and 12 radio announcements, which are played by 205 stations in 29 states. The non-partisan organization has also sponsored the “Because I Care” campaign, a national college outreach initiative to mobilize millennials to the voting booth, and established a partnership with TurboVote to offer easier options for voting registration and filling absentee ballots. In September, My Faith Votes joined the TurboVote Challenge, along with other prominent businesses and organizations.

Through live events with evangelical leaders and thinkers, My Faith Vote has led the conversation on the role of faith in American politics and culture. Phil Robertson, Dr. Ben Carson, and Eric Metaxas are just a few guests who have participated in these events, encouraging evangelicals to pray, think, and vote this election.
