SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Dr. Ronnie Floyd’s opening Life and Leadership Today episode, which featured ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen, debuted on iTunes top 20 Religion podcasts when launched Tuesday, Mar. 7.
Baptist leaders like LifeWay President and CEO Thom Rainer and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary President Jason K. Allen congratulated Dr. Floyd for the successful launch of the podcast.
In the inaugural episode, Dr. Floyd, who himself saw his wife Jeana battle and survive cancer, discussed with Chris Mortensen the relationship between faith and illness.
Sharing about his experience battling Stage IV throat cancer and the care he received, Mortensen said, “One things you learn about cancer is that it is indiscriminate — there’s no age discrimination, no ethnic discrimination… but I also saw a lot of courage, a lot of bravery, a lot of inspiration, and I saw the image of God in practice through the reflection of his character.”
Life and Leadership Today is a 22-minute weekly podcast for leaders. Each episode draws lessons from Dr. Floyd’s more than 30-year career pastoring and working amongst America’s most influential ministry, business, sports, and political leaders and from his tenure as president of the Southern Baptist Convention.
The podcast, which is delivered on Tuesdays, can be subscribed to and downloaded in iTunes.
