DALLAS — My Faith Votes, a nonpartisan movement working to engage Christians in America to vote in local and domestic elections, is a major sponsor of the 2018 Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam, one of the nation’s largest country music festivals. Thousands of fans will converge on Panama City Beach, Florida, over Labor Day weekend (8/31 – 9/2) to experience performances from some of the biggest names in country music, such as Thomas Rhett, Eric Church and Florida Georgia Line. My Faith Votes’ efforts at the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam are part of a nationwide initiative to register and equip people of faith to vote across the country.
Gov. Mike Huckabee, My Faith Votes’ honorary national chairman, will speak at the festival and inspire concertgoers to be ready to vote this November. “Country music embodies so much of what it means to be American — faith in God, belief in strong family values, a love for America,” Huckabee remarked, adding “as these things come under assault by secularism and political correctness, it’s only common sense to encourage country music fans to take the values of their faith to the ballot box in what might be the most important election of our lifetime. I’m looking forward to encouraging concertgoers to act on their faith by casting an informed vote, and enjoying some great music.”
To help mobilize festival-goers to vote, My Faith Votes will operate an information booth to quickly register and equip voters with cutting-edge election technology and motivate festival goers to put their faith into action by pledging to vote.
