[Release] Anniversary Gala to Celebrate 50 Years of a United and Free Jerusalem Planned in Dallas Metroplex, Hosted by Friends of Zion

May. 17, 2017

JERUSALEM — In honor of the 50th Anniversary of the liberation of Jerusalem after the Six-Day War fought in 1967, the Friends of Zion Heritage Center will host a Jubilee Dinner at Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas in Dallas, Texas, on June 10 starting at 6 p.m. CT. For guests who wish to attend the Jubilee Event, tickets can be requested here.

The evening will include an address by keynote speaker, Governor Mike Huckabee, along with video presentations by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat.

“The Six-Day War remains one of the most remarkable events in human history,” says Dr. Mike Evans, president and founder of Friends of Zion. “In what seemed to be the darkest moment in the story of Israel as a young, modern nation, a nearly impossible turn of events, fueled by the grit and valor of the Israeli people, culminated in the liberation of Jerusalem.”

“Our dinner will celebrate 50 years of freedom and unification for the city of Jerusalem,” adds Dr. Evans. “It’s an event that will be celebrated the world over and we will be honored to hear from Gov. Huckabee, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and Mayor Barkat. Our hope and prayer is that this event will galvanize support for Israel and the Jewish people. We believe it will inspire a new generation to fight anti-Semitism in all its forms, and it all starts with remembering the past with a vision for the future.”

“We’re throwing a 50th birthday party for Jerusalem,” says Dr. Mike Evans. “We hope friends of Israel throughout the Dallas area will celebrate with us.”
