[Release] Celebrating 30 Years of Ministry, Harvest Bible Chapel’s ‘Summer Revival’ Welcomes World Renowned Apologist Ravi Zacharias

Jul. 26, 2018

CHICAGO This summer, Harvest Bible Chapel is celebrating its 30th year of ministry in the Chicagoland area with a summer revival. Over the next three weekends they will host a variety of notable speakers, pastors and musicians on campus to join them in their celebration. Kicking off the first week, on Saturday, July 28, is world-renowned Christian apologist Ravi Zacharias.

Zacharias has spent the past 45 years commending the Christian faith and addressing life’s great existential questions of origin, meaning, morality and destiny with eloquence and grace. He fully believes the truth of Jesus Christ can endure the toughest critiques and philosophical attacks. He has authored or edited over 25 books in the fields of theology, apologetics, comparative religion and philosophy.

In addition to Zacharias, the evening will feature a word on the topic of revival itself from Dr. James MacDonald, along with faith testimonies by American Ninja Warrior Grant McCartney and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. The event will also include worship and a concert featuring Sean Curran and award-winning artist Meredith Andrews, along with Harvest’s own Vertical Worship band.

“I can’t begin to describe my excitement for what’s in store this summer at Harvest,” said Founding and Senior Pastor James MacDonald. “For thirty years my wife, Kathy, and I have been serving and leading our church family. Each and every year the Lord has done great things for us, and it is marvelous in our eyes. The key word this weekend is “celebration.” Some of the most gifted communicators of God’s Word and worship leaders are coming to celebrate with us and share the good news of Jesus Christ. We’re hoping to pack out the lawn with people who are hungry for revival and ready to rejoice over God’s goodness.”

Each of the three revival weekends will be a Ravinia-style service on Saturday night, held at Harvest’s church campus in Elgin, and one Sunday service on all campuses. The first of their three events starts on Saturday, July 28 at 4 p.m. beginning with a unique twist — an American Ninja Warrior demonstration. A food tent with local vendors and restaurants will be onsite with a variety of options available for purchase.
