[Release] Cross Church prepares to distribute 2,250 ‘Blessing Baskets’ of food to area families

Nov. 16, 2018

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — This Saturday, Nov. 17, hundreds of volunteers will rise early out of bed and head over to a church building in Rogers, Ark., to participate in a tradition that spans 26 years: Cross Church’s Blessing Baskets food distribution.

The volunteers will assemble 2,250 of these “Blessing Baskets” at the Cross Church Pinnacle Hills Campus, located off Pinnacle Hills Highway. Each basket is filled with food items to provide a Thanksgiving meal to a family in the area that may not be able to afford one. The baskets then will be distributed throughout Cross Church’s five campuses in Northwest Arkansas after church services this weekend.

“Our first and highest calling as a local church is to love our neighbors, and that is what our Blessing Baskets ministry is all about,” said Dr. Ronnie Floyd, pastor of Cross Church.

“We have been distributing Blessing Baskets for 26 years. Our desire is to bless families in our area not only with a physical meal but also with spiritual sustenance. We want them to know that whatever hardship they might be going through, there is hope in Jesus.”
