COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Family Talk Board of Directors commends Dr. James Dobson for being named among the 20 Most Influential Evangelicals in America by Newsmax Media—listed at #18. The honor comes at the end of another very busy year for the cultural icon.
In April, Dr. Dobson celebrated his 40th anniversary in broadcasting. Starting first with Focus on the Family, from which he resigned in 2010 and continued on with Family Talk that same year, Dobson continues his signature daily broadcast devoted to protecting and enriching the family.
Also earlier this year, in response to increasing mobile and online demand for Dr. Dobson’s 40 years of family centric content, Family Talk launched the Dobson Digital Library(DDL). This project brings the lifeworks of Dr. Dobson to a new generation of families around the world.
Dr. Dobson also recently partnered with Liberty University to establish the James C. Dobson Center for Child Development, Marriage, & Family Studies. The center provides a certified, accredited curriculum through Liberty’s online program designed to equip men and women with the knowledge and tools necessary to positively impact the family and society, for Christ.
In June, Dr. Dobson was awarded The Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Winston Churchill Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Vice President Mike Pence. The organization’s Chairman Ralph Reed, was quoted as saying, “[Dr. Dobson] has served at the forefront of the evangelical conservative movement in America for decades, fighting for traditional marriage, the sanctity of human life and encouraging godly families.” Then in July, Dr. Dobson received the William L. Armstrong Award at Colorado Christian University’s Western Conservative Summit.
Throughout his career, Dr. Dobson has advised five U.S. Presidents and currently serves as the Honorary Chairman for President Trump’s White House Faith Advisory Board.
