[Release] Free Chapel’s ‘Heart For’ Initiative Underway to Help the Homeless, Trafficking Victims, Expectant Mothers, Schools, Parks and More

Aug. 23, 2018

GAINESVILLE, Ga.  — Back again for another round of service projects throughout their communities, Free Chapel’s “Heart For” initiative is underway, partnering with organizations throughout Georgia. With every small act of kindness, as always, their goal is an eternal impact.

On Saturday, August 25, Free Chapel’s Serve Teams will be involved in everything from providing meals for malnourished children, visiting residents of nursing homes, mowing lawns, to helping victims of human trafficking.

“This is an exciting time for Free Chapel,” said Senior Pastor Jentezen Franklin. “We have the privilege of joining some incredible community leaders across Georgia as we share the love of Jesus in tangible ways. Worshiping together on Sunday morning is what most people picture when they think of the church, but stepping beyond our walls and meeting the needs of our neighbors is an equally important part of the Christian life.”

At the Gainesville campus, many Free Chapel members will have the unique opportunity to prepare for the opening of a new branch of North Georgia Works. North Georgia Works helps homeless men overcome their barriers, equipping them to become productive and self-sufficient individuals.

The Gainesville campus will also be assisting with maintenance at Choices Pregnancy Center and at New Beginnings, a home for women in Franklin County that provides refuge for those dealing with destructive behaviors and addictions. Service teams will even be providing assistance to Hall County Parks and Recreation and “Keep Hall Beautiful” as they endeavor to clean up area parks and the Lanier lakeshore.

Free Chapel’s Gwinnett campus will be lending a hand at Feed My Starving Children, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children. Teams will also be serving a variety of needs at Victoria’s Friends, a faith-based organization whose mission is to provide spiritual support and physical restoration to women working in the sex industry.

Habitat for Humanity will be receiving teams from the Gwinnett campus as well, along with Baggett Elementary School in Lawrenceville.

Free Chapel first launched “Heart For” in 2016. All six of Free Chapel’s campuses are involved in more than 30 different projects during the months of August and September. Throughout the rest of the year, Free Chapel has over 60 service teams that are active in the communities surrounding all of their campuses on a regular basis. “Heart For” is a catalyst for recruiting additional team members for these outreaches as well as launching new ones.
