[Release] Harvest Bible Chapel Celebrates 30th Anniversary of First Service, Honors Pastor James and Kathy MacDonald with New Scholarship in Their Name

Sep. 17, 2018

CHICAGO — This past Sunday, Harvest Bible Chapel celebrated the anniversary of their very first church service 30 years ago. It was a joyful occasion marked with guest musicians and speakers, including Prestonwood Baptist Church pastor and former Southern Baptist Convention President Jack Graham.

Reflecting on many memories during the service, Pastor James told the congregation, “I just want to publicly say how grateful we are to the Lord. Every single thing in his word is true, everything that he has promised he has done, everything that we have asked he has greatly exceeded. We are the immense beneficiaries of his grace and his goodness.”

As part of a unique initiative to honor the 30 years of service that Pastor James and Kathy MacDonald have given to Harvest since its founding, the elder board decided to create a scholarship in their name. The scholarship will be for funding tuition for qualified students attending Harvest Christian Academy, the Christian school at Harvest Bible Chapel’s Elgin campus.

The scholarship will be given to high school students at Harvest Christian Academy who are actively committed to the church and its mission. Special consideration will be given to students from economically disadvantaged families and a student/family’s length of commitment to the church.
