Museum of the Bible’s ‘Hebrew Bible Experience’ receives prestigious Thea Award

Press Release: The KAIROS Company for Museum of the BibleJul. 9, 2020
WASHINGTON — Museum of the Bible has been named the recipient of the Themed Entertainment Association’s (TEA) Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement–Museum Exhibit for its “Hebrew Bible Experience.” The award is internationally recognized as an indication of excellence in the “creation of compelling educational, historical and entertainment projects.”

“The Hebrew Bible Experience shares stories that are important to people all over the world and we’ve done our best to share those stories carefully and creatively,” said Harry Hargrave, CEO of Museum of the Bible. “We are honored to receive this award and join with TEA in celebrating the attraction.”

The “Hebrew Bible Experience” is a 14,000 square-foot, 30-minute walk-through exhibit taking visitors through 15 immersive scenes. One-of-a-kind multimedia environments, theatrical lighting and specialized surround sound plant guests right into stories from the Hebrew Bible such as the Great Flood, the calling of Moses and the Israelite Exodus from Egypt.

Announcing the award, TEA wrote that the exhibit “represents an outstanding solution to a formidable, interpretive design challenge and demonstrates a high level of excellence.” TEA also noted, “Each room is unique in presentation format and aesthetic design – as if conceived and executed by a different artist each time – and this diversity of presentation helps keep guests engaged and anticipatory.”

Due to Coronavirus (Covid-19) concerns, this year’s 26th Annual Thea Awards Gala will be hosted virtually this summer via a series of online Thea Case Studies on the TEA Digital platform.
