[Release] My Faith Votes Makes It Fast and Easy for Americans to Register to Vote, Request an Absentee Ballot, and More

Sep. 25, 2018

DALLAS — My Faith Votes (MFV), a nonpartisan movement working to engage Christians in America to vote in local and domestic elections, has made available a suite of helpful tools to equip Americans of voting age to make sure they are prepared and informed for the upcoming 2018 midterm elections. Tuesday, September 25 is National Voter Registration Day, a yearly national event created to broaden awareness of voter registration opportunities to reach tens of thousands of voters who may not register otherwise.

My Faith Votes’ Voting Assistance Center, prompts users to click on their state on an interactive map. Upon doing so, a veritable one-stop-shop of helpful state-specific links are displayed, including local ballot information, absentee ballot applications, voting guides, election dates and polling locations, state election resources, and ways to check if you’re registered to vote.

A second tool, the Personal Voting Assistant, provides users with a quick and simple way to register to vote, request absentee ballots and receive local and national election reminders via text or email, including the user’s polling location.

“During the 2016 presidential election, 85 percent of people who used our voting tools actually voted,” says My Faith Votes CEO Jason Yates, adding “our plan is to put these proven tools in the hands of even more people this year. MFV offers phenomenal tools, so there really is no excuse for any American NOT to be registered or informed to vote.”

The mid-term elections are only 41 days away and in many states, the deadline to register is 30 days before election day. This year, voters must elect: all 435 members of the U.S. House, 35 U.S. Senators, 36 governorships and/or lieutenant governorships, 30 state attorneys general, 6,086 state senators or representatives, 76 state supreme court justices, 225 state appellate court justices and nearly 1,200 local school boards.
