PLANO, Texas — This Friday, Prestonwood Baptist Church will host “Anchored,” a one-day conference designed to empower men to become better leaders in their homes, workplaces and communities.
One of Prestonwood’s celebrated ministries, the men’s Anchored conference brings in top of the line speakers who are leaders in their industries and who, often, have personal testimonies of overcoming challenges such as addiction. This year’s speaker lineup includes former MLB player and four-time World Series Champion Darryl Strawberry and Jonathan Cain, member of the best-selling rock band Journey.
“One of the greatest needs in America today is men who will step up and assume their role as servant leaders in their homes, workplaces and communities,” said Jack Graham, pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church.
“So much of the fragmentation happening in our society — drug addiction, homelessness, gun violence, poverty, or any of our other pressing social ills — stems from men failing to master themselves and become good role models for their children, loving and loyal husbands to their wives and servant leaders toward those in their sphere of influence. Our conference is a call for men to not deny God’s leadership calling on them, but to assume it with a deep sense of humility and responsibility, because the present and the future of our country depends on it,” Graham said.
Anchored will be held at Prestonwood’s Plano campus at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 29. For more information, including registration, visit www.prestonwoodmensconference.
