[Release] The Israel Bible Debuts on Kindle, Climbs to #1 on Amazon

Jul. 18, 2018

JERUSALEM — The Israel Bible, released July 16 in Kindle format, promptly climbed to the top of the charts, becoming the #1 best-seller in the Christian Bible category on Kindle. This follows a special advance release of the print version of The Israel Bible in April, which rose to #1 on the charts in four categories on Amazon: Hebrew Bibles, Jewish Sacred Writings, Torah, and Christian Bible History and Culture. The simultaneous #1 position in both Jewish and Christian categories is unprecedented.

The Israel Bible, edited by Rabbi Tuly Weisz published by Israel365 and Menorah Books (an imprint of Koren Publishers Jerusalem), is the world’s first Bible centered around the Land of Israel, the People of Israel, and the dynamic relationship between them. Designed for both non-Jewish and Jewish readers alike, The Israel Bible offers a unique commentary that seeks to explain God’s focus on the Land of Israel alongside the original Hebrew text and the New Jewish Publication Society translation. All 929 chapters highlight verses that relate to Israel, including relevant quotes and perspectives from prime ministers, as well as abundant maps, charts and illustrations.

Since its release, the publisher has had difficulty keeping up with the demand and has now gone back to press for a third printing less than 90 days since its release. Asked to explain the popularity of The Israel Bible, editor Tuly Weisz observed, “the Bible has been a source of division between Jews and Christians for over two millennia. But today the Bible is becoming the point that connects and unites Jews and Christians in a way never seen before. That’s why we took such care in creating The Israel Bible. We wanted it to build a bridge between Jews and the nations.”
