[Release] World Help launches Facebook Live show to share how Americans can turn holiday shopping into social good

Nov. 13, 2018
FOREST, Va. — Christian humanitarian organization World Help is launching a three-day special event to change the way people shop this holiday season.
Christmas Giving 101, hosted by World Help President Noel Yeatts, will go live Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. EST on the organization’s Facebook page. The show will explain how viewers can turn their holiday shopping into social good.
On the first episode, 15-year-old Emma Dawson will tell how she began fundraising to provide clean water to an impoverished community overseas. Viewers also will hear stories of how small gifts can make a big difference for families in need, as Yeatts highlights items from World Help’s Christmas Giving catalog, such as Bibles, bicycles, vocational training scholarships and even livestock.
“For us in the United States, Christmas is a season of joy and celebration. But for many families who live in impoverished communities across the world, Christmas is simply another day to survive,” Yeatts said. “We have the opportunity of making a difference in their lives, and there is no better time to give to those in need than during Christmas, when we celebrate Jesus — God’s greatest gift to the world.”
Along with encouraging stories and holiday giving advice, Yeatts will also be sharing a special announcement, which World Help supporters won’t want to miss.
