FOREST, Va. — Three months after dedicating a rehabilitation home in Thailand for former sex workers, Christian humanitarian organization World Help announced Monday, May 1, it has reached its fundraising goal for the project.
Located in Pattaya, a city with an estimated 50,000 sex workers, the home will provide a new beginning for women who have been forced by poverty into the sex industry. Once completed, the facility will furnish a safe space to live, as well as daily meals, fully funded educational and vocational training, trauma counseling, and medical care.
The project was dedicated this past January during National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. Thanks to the contributions of both World Help and other supporters, the project now enters its second phase, where the home will be equipped for operation.

As part of its commitment to fight sex trafficking and modern slavery, World Help recently launchedFreedom Friday, a new campaign to fight sexual slavery. The campaign asks individuals to take a “one-night stand for freedom” by giving up their evening entertainment Friday, May 19, and donating its monetary worth to help girls trapped in the sex industry find freedom.
