[Statement] Dr. David Jeremiah Encourages Christians to Consider Voting in the Midterms ‘a Sacred Duty to Participate in the Democratic Process’

Nov. 6, 2018

EL CAJON, Calif. — Pastor, Bible teacher, New York Times bestselling author and nationally syndicated TV and radio host, Dr. David Jeremiah releases the following statement as Americans head to the polls today:

“There’s a lot we can’t control in this often chaotic and confusing moment of history, but what an amazing privilege we have in this country to help decide who leads and represents us. As a follower of Christ, I know he would have me use this opportunity to be a voice for those who can’t speak for themselves and vote for those who promise to continue the noble vision of liberty and justice for all. I’m praying every other Christian will take this right to vote as a sacred duty to participate in the democratic process and vote for the values that set this nation apart from the very beginning.

“I love being a citizen in this unique place called America, a country that was established with the understanding that rights come from God, not from government. I can also rest easy tonight knowing that after I’ve done my part, no matter who wins or loses, an almighty, loving God is still on the throne ruling every person in this nation with truth and justice. I urge every Christian to vote; and then when the polls close, stand firm in knowing that God is for us and he won’t ever forsake us.”
