EL CAJON, Calif. — Pastor, Bible teacher, New York Times bestselling author and nationally syndicated TV and radio host, Dr. David Jeremiah releases the following statement following the shooting in Alexandria, Virginia:
“Today’s attack was not only an attack against Rep. Scalise and all those present, but against ‘the people’s house’ and every American they represent. I thank God that no victim has lost their life to this senseless act and I pray for a full and speedy recovery for those who were injured in today’s shooting, especially for Rep. Scalise as he emerges from surgery.
“I also pray that today’s violence would cause a dramatic shift in the political climate of our nation, one marked by cooperation, civility and mutual respect. I pray that while we may disagree politically, we would always be united by our mutual respect for the dignity of our fellow man and woman. May today’s tragic events give rise to a newfound conviction to reach across our divisions and hold fast to all that binds us together as Americans and as children of Almighty God.”
