COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Dr. James Dobson issues the following statement in response to the passing of Dr. R.C. Sproul:
“Shirley and I extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Dr. R.C. Sproul, a man we deeply respected and admired. We are saddened by the news of his passing because the world has lost a true and faithful steward of God’s Word. We also rejoice in knowing that he is at peace with his Heavenly Father.
“Dr. Sproul made a lasting impact on me personally when he was kind enough to endorse my book, ‘When God Doesn’t Make Sense,’ describing the content as “a sensitive, compassionate, and insightful treatment on the question of suffering.” That was just one example of the thoughtfulness he exhibited throughout his life as he worked tirelessly to promote the love and mercy of God to the world around him.
“His legacy will most certainly live on well past his own lifetime through the work of Ligonier Ministries. We will also remember his many sermons, radio broadcasts and books. Our prayers are with his dear family.”
Dr. James Dobson is a celebrated psychologist, Christian leader, and Founder and President of Family Talk, a nonprofit organization that produces his radio program, “Dr. James Dobson’s Family Talk.” He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in the field of child development and was inducted in 2008 into The National Radio Hall of Fame.
