COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Dr. James Dobson, president and founder of the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute, issues the following statement in response to the news of the passing of Lois Evans, wife of Dr. Tony Evans:

“We grieve today for Dr. Tony Evans at the passing of his beloved wife, Lois. This gracious lady will be remembered by millions of friends and admirers for her kind spirit, her warm smile, and for her enormous contribution to the Cause of Christ. Our prayers are with the entire Evans family, who have suffered yet another profound loss. May the God of all comfort embrace them in His love.”

He served as an associate clinical professor of pediatrics at the University of Southern California School of Medicine for 14 years and on the attending staff of Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles for 17 years. He has been active in governmental affairs and has advised five U.S. presidents on family matters. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California (1967) in the field of child development and research design. He holds 17 honorary doctoral degrees and was inducted in 2008 into The National Radio Hall of Fame.
