HYDERABAD, India — The Most Rev. Dr. Joseph D’Souza, moderating bishop of the Good Shepherd Church and president of the All India Christian Council, releases the following statement on this week’s attacks in St. Petersburg and Stockholm:
“This week’s attacks in St. Petersburg and Stockholm bring us back to the harsh reality that we are waging an ideological war with forces that are at odds with our shared belief in the the sanctity of human life and individual freedom. Every public leader—from the halls of government to the boardrooms of commerce and the sanctuaries of our churches—should raise his or her voice and call these acts for what they are: evil.
“The prayers of India’s Christian community are with the survivors and the families of the victims of the attack. May God grant them peace and justice.”
