SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Dr. Ronnie Floyd releases the following statement calling upon Congress to conduct a swift and fair confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch:
“I have said this before, and I will continue saying it: America does not need to be redefined, but rediscovered. For too long activist judges have sought to twist the intentions of the framers of our Constitution by creating new rights and laws out of thin air. We are in desperate need of judges and justices who understand that the Constitution is not a living document to be constantly manipulated to advance one’s personal preference.
“Throughout his career, Neil Gorsuch has demonstrated that he, like the late Justice Antonin Scalia, understands this principle. Having him confirmed as a Supreme Court Justice would add a much needed voice of balance and reason to our nation’s judiciary. As the confirmation hearings for Neil Gorsuch draw near, I ask the Senate Judiciary Committee to conduct a swift and fair hearing.
“I also call upon Evangelicals across the nation to contact their members of Congress demanding they support the confirmation of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the United States Supreme Court.”
