SPRINGDALE, Ark. — Dr. Ronnie Floyd releases the following statement commending President Trump for his unprecedented first visit to Israel, where he became the first sitting U.S. president to pray at the Western Wall:
“I think it’s absolutely appropriate that the president of the United States did what all of us do every time we get a chance to visit Israel, which is take a personal pilgrimage to the holiest Biblical sites. The president went to places we go to, and might have prayed some of the prayers we’ve prayed. Yet what is most astonishing is that he became the first sitting president of the United States to pray at the Western Wall, inserting his prayer in the last remaining piece of Israel’s temple. And could it just be, since he is now the first president to pray at the Western Wall, that we pray for him to actually find the blessing of God in his pursuit of peace in the region.”
