Forest, VA — Dr. Tim Clinton, president of the American Association of Christian Counselors, issues the following statement in response to President Trump’s executive order to stop the separation of families at the border:
“I am thankful the President signed an executive order ending the policy of separating families at the border. American families must be protected by a strong border and an effective and functional immigration system. Immigrant families, too, must be treated with dignity. These goals are not incompatible. Our immigration laws can — and must — simultaneously value life, family and national security. Let’s pray Congress can work responsibly with the president, roll up its sleeves and fix our immigration system. I pray that they will.”
