[Statement] Jack Graham: Before this tragedy gets lost in politics, remember the victims

Oct. 27, 2018

PLANO, Texas — Dr. Jack Graham, pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church, issues the following statement on Saturday’s mass shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh:

“Before the finger-pointing begins and this tragedy gets lost in politics, please stop and consider this: 11 people will not return to their families tonight. Many others will bear on their bodies and in their minds the wounds of this day for the rest of their lives. Whether we are near or far from this tragedy, we should all pray a prayer for them.

“We also must call this violent act for what it is: Anti-Semitism. Anti-semitism is one of the oldest, most despicable forms of racism in the world. It has paved the way for a myriad of forms of hatred and prejudice. We must all condemn it and commit to root it out of our country.”

Dr. Jack Graham is the pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church, one of the largest and fastest growing churches in America. He is also a noted author, and his PowerPoint Ministries broadcasts are available in 92 countries and are heard daily in more than 740 cities. He has served as president of the Southern Baptist Convention and the honorary chairman of the 2015 National Day of Prayer.
