[Statement] My Faith Votes Celebrates Texas Legislation Aimed to Protect Religious Freedom

May. 31, 2017

DALLAS — My Faith Votes CEO Jason Yates releases the following statement celebrating the passing of a Texas legislation that aims to protect religious freedom of publicly funded child adoption service providers. The bill is now pending the approval of Gov. Greg Abbott.

“My Faith Votes believes every political interaction and decision has a consequence. Because of this, we celebrate the creation, passing or enacting of any new measure that protects religious freedom and strengthens the place of the family in society—no matter how small a victory it may seem. This is the product of faith in action, and were more Christians involved in the decision-making process of their communities, we would see a resurgence of faith in the public square.

“We are greatly heartened to hear the passing of this bill that protects the religious rights of Texas adoption service providers. We now call on Gov. Abbott to expeditiously sign it into law.”
