[Statement] My Faith Votes CEO Jason Yates Releases Statement on Passing of Rev. Billy Graham

Feb. 21, 2018

DALLAS — On the passing of Rev. Billy Graham, Jason Yates, CEO of My Faith Votes, releases the following statement reflecting on Rev. Graham’s life and ministry:

“Billy Graham is the paragon of someone whose every square inch of his life was touched and transformed by the gospel of Jesus. He preached to millions, counseled a dozen U.S. presidents and foreign dignitaries, stood with Martin Luther King Jr. through the Civil Rights Movement and went behind the Iron Curtain at the height of the Cold War. His entire life was defined by his conviction of man’s need for repentance and salvation in Jesus, and he wasn’t ashamed of saying this in the Oval Office, Buckingham Palace or in a stadium packed with tens of thousands of people.

“As we reflect on Rev. Billy Graham’s unmatchable legacy in the world we are currently living in, we are reminded we need more men and women like him — who allow the gospel to speak into every nook and crevice of their lives.

“Though today we mourn the passing of a great man, we do not mourn without hope. Rev. Billy Graham preached that, for those who’ve put their faith in Jesus, heaven is their real home. So we joyfully celebrate Rev. Graham’s life and honor his legacy. He finally gets to see the Christ he’s told so many people about.”
