DALLAS — Jason Yates, CEO of My Faith Votes, releases the following statement in response to President Trump’s executive order ending family separation at the southern U.S. border:
“Thankfully, this madness of tearing families apart at the border has been stopped, but President Trump’s executive order only puts an end to one part of this crisis. The task of fixing our immigration problems has always been up to Congress, and it must act now. Our Christian faith teaches us to protect families and most importantly children, so we call on our leaders to put comprehensive solutions in place that uphold the law while showing compassion to the people involved. There should be no reason our elected officials cannot find a way to protect our country’s borders while simultaneously solving the Dreamer crisis and longstanding ineffectiveness of our immigration system.”
